Before brands like Polo were household names and was the go to brand for urban fashionistas, Coca-Cola Clothing was the shit in the hood! you were the man if you had a Cop-Cola rugby or sweater. The brightly designed brand was mostly a mesh of primary color blocking that was popular during the 80s. The brand was licensed to The Murjani family who were apparel manufacturers with generations of experience in the business. At the time the Murjani Family hired a young unknown designer by the name of Tommy Hilfiger to design the brand of clothing.
The brand was a success in a short amount of time ands sold in every major mall across the United States. The brand quickly gained popularity with teens and fashion forward youth within the Hip-Hop culture. Rappers such as Heavy-D and The Boyz rocked the brand in some of his early videos such as "Mr.Big Stuff" and "The Overweight Lover".
