Here is a Ellesse print advertisement from the mid 1980s promoting their "Sun Mirror" sunglasses. Ellesse hired tennis great Chris Everts to endorse the brand and rock the sunglasses in this campaign. These style of sunglasses with the different color mirror tints were real trendy during that era too. I'm pretty sure they gave him the bag to for this. In the 70's and 80s, big sportswear brands were quick to throw big bags of money like it was a Magic Johnson no look pass on a fast break!
The sunglasses were manufactured and produced by The Marchon company most likely under a licensing agreement. The sunglasses were made in an array of bright vibrant colors and featured a I-F/X lens that provided ultra violet and infrared protection. The frames were also manufactured with hard coated polycarbonate and was ten times more impact resistant.
