This year marked the 25th Anniversary of the Polo by Ralph Lauren 1992 P-Wing Stadium Collection. Ralph decided to re-release the collection to the masses again after seeing the interest Lo heads had for the vintage pieces. These particular items first became notably favorable amongst Lo-Lifes and other boosters from Brooklyn back in 1992 because of the unique olympic theme design and large logo placements.
Above is a pic of Original Lo-Lifes together at a party for Fi-Lo birthday. The year is 1992 and that's me at the bottom with the big P-wing knit crewneck sweater, Stadium jacket and Shirt wrapped around my waist. I went all the way to Neiman Marcus in White Plains, NY just to get that jacket. You know how far Brooklyn is from White Plains? Well, thats a nice little trek just to let you know. I remember first seeing the jacket worn by a homie of mines from the Bush. He had got the jacket early somehow before they even stocked it on the floor. When I seen him with it I was like yo where the fuck you get that from?! At first he didn't want to tell me but he eventually broke down and put me on. I immediately was on a mission after that to find that jacket. I was determined to come home with one of those jackets early.
You can also see Buff-Lo to the right of me wearing a 1992 Stadium hat, with the P-wing hat, Shirt, Jacket and pants. I was shocked when i first seen the 1992 hat he's wearing going for $1,800 on e-bay. I never was a fan of the long duck bill hats. I had several colors of the Polo Sport hats in that style but never wore them. I think I eventually sold them off after awhile. When the collection first dropped the items were exclusive and were a must have by all Brooklyn boosters. After a while some of the pieces were starting to be sold in much more widely distributed off price outlets such as BFOs, Burlington Coat Factory and Syms. When the exclusivity started to wear off on the collection due to the over saturation of other non-boosters wearing the it, Lo-Lifes and other shoplifting clicks just moved on to the next one.
